The skiing area

The most attractive area in the Appenzellerland for skiing and snowboarding is practically on the doorstep.

Short travel distances and plenty of parking spaces guarantee stress-free skiing and snowboarding fun. This area offers a genuine alternative to overcrowded ski resorts.

At Ebenalp there are two powerful ski lifts (Gartenwald-Ebenalp and Gartenalp-Chlus). A further lift can be found at the end of the 3.5 km descent down the valley at Hornhang in Schwende. And for the little ones there's a free children's tow lift at Ebenalp and at the Horn ski lift.

Trips with the Appenzell railway from Schwende to Wasserauen are included in the reasonably priced day and half-day tickets.
