Aerial cableway
There has been an aerial cableway between Wasserauen (868 m) and Ebenalp (1644 m) since 1955, attracting up to 200,000 visitors a year.
The cableway mountain station on the high plateau of Ebenalp is the starting point for several superb and invigorating hikes in the Alpstein region.

From the wide high plateau with its rich alpine flora you have wonderful views over the hills of Appenzell, Sankt Gallen and Thurgau and the Lake Constance region and to the west and south-west over the picturesque panorama of the Alpstein chain.
